Our Vision

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,

I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,

I was a stranger and you invited me in,

I needed clothes and you clothed me,

I was sick and you looked after me,

I was in prison and you came to visit me.

Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV)

About Us

Our work begain in March 2019 when Pastor Mick Fleming, together with David and Mary Hirst, started to help the homeless people on the streets of Burnley. It wasn’t long before people enquired about their faith, and on the 7th April 2019 a church was planted at the Gannow Community Centre in Burnley.

Our regular Christian Sunday services run from 11am until 12.30pm every week. Members volunteer to pick up others who cannot drive and would otherwise struggle to attend services. Tea and coffe is provided for free at the service. We also meet during the week for Bible studies, prayer meetings and “The 12 Steps”.

With our first Church in Burnley and our new Church in Barnoldswick, “Church on the Street Ministries” is a Church with a difference – We put our faith into action through social welfare provision and tackling injustice.

We are passionate about the work we do, and we aim to do even more. We care for many people in need – the homeless, those in poverty, the elderly, children and families, prisoners, people suffering addictions, those with disabilities – anyone who needs us will receive care, compassion and support. We make a huge difference to so many people in our community who may feel excluded or face loneliness and isolation.

Our work includes food distribution and foodbanks, hot meal services for the homeless at specific locations throughout the week, critical service support (for example, transport of prescriptions), publication of home schooling packs for children who lack online access, support for those who suffer sudden bereavement and struggle to find the funds for unexpected funeral arrangements, pastoral care and counselling services.

If you would like more information on the Church’s services and activities, please contact Pastor Mick Fleming on 07582 776574 or email
